Gerar Pope grew up in Huntsville Alabama. During his childhood he accepted Christ as his savior. He left Huntsville after High School to attend Tuskegee University where he would earn a B.S. Degree in History. After Tuskegee, he returned to his hometown to attend graduate school at Alabama A&M University and earned a Masters in Education.
After graduate school he moved to Memphis to work for the Memphis City School System. Shortly after his move to Memphis, he became a part of Oak Grove M.B. Church under the leadership of Pastor Donald Johnson. It was during his season at Oak Grove that he accepted his call to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Among the many opportunities in which God allowed Pastor Pope to be a part of at Oak Grove is serving as the Pastor of Evangelism for over 5 years. He would eventually be licensed and ordained by Pastor Johnson while serving.
At the present time, he is an Academic Instructor for Minact Inc. at the Dr. Benjamin Hooks Job Corps Center. He has self published 2 books "Spiritual Apples for Teachers & Lead Me Not Into Temptation." He plans to return to Memphis Theological Seminary (an opportunity he put on hold in order establish Blessed Fellowship Ministries) and finish his studies. He values taking care of his family. He also loves sports, music, and laughter. Pastor Pope is married to the lovely Cassandra Pope. Together they have 2 precious children (Lasha and Gerar II). His personal mission is to serve God using the gifts and talents that has been given to him to carry out his calling which is best described in Matthew 28:19 (Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit).
